Community Impact: Why be involved?

The Ladies Business Community has always been passionate about giving back to our community. We know this is something important to you ladies as well, but we wanted to dive deeper into why getting involved is so important and how it can benefit your business!
1. Overall Life Quality
On a personal level, volunteering and being involved with an organization that benefits a cause you care about boosts self-confidence and happiness, which can lead to an overall higher life quality.
2. The Organizations Need You
More than 80% of nonprofits rely on volunteers. Volunteerism also has a value of over $184 BILLION dollars! This means they need your time and energy in order to help make their operations run smoothly. When it comes to making an impact it doesn’t always mean you have to make a financial commitment, volunteering is just as crucial.
We all understand that volunteering makes us feel good & it makes a big difference, now here’s more on the business strategy of volunteering and why this can also be a great tool for you to build your business.
3. Brand Awareness
Increased exposure in the community. People are paying more attention these days than ever before, on where their favorite companies are putting in philanthropic efforts. Pick an organization that means a lot to you, and use that as an additional networking opportunity for your business. You will build bonds with your neighbors and they are more likely to support businesses that have similar values.
4. Build Community Trust
When your business genuinely cares for others and you go out of your way to make a difference, you build trust within the community. “In short, consumers recognize and appreciate when organizations give back to the community, and they are likely to direct their business to those who do.” *
5. Promote Collaboration
For years, business was a competitive, scarcity mindset world, but these days that focus has been shifting. When we all work together and have an abundance mentality everyone feels better and has a better outlook, therefore leading to a more attractive energy, leading to drawing in more opportunity. People want to work with others who are positive! This is also important when your business starts bringing on team members. When we get involved with nonprofits and our community, it fosters an environment of teamwork and worthiness in the workplace.
It goes without saying, you should never volunteer with an organization simply to make more money. People can see through this facade. Taking care of your community has to be something you are actually passionate about doing. There are so many great nonprofits in our area, here are a few of my favorites.
Habitat for Humanity
Volunteer at the store or go on a habitat build! They provide affordable housing for hardworking families.
Habitat Spokane
Communities in Schools
Communities in schools helps at-risk youth overcome barriers that prevent kids from graduating school. “Our mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.”
Project Beauty Share
“Project Beauty Share provides personal hygiene, cosmetics and beauty products to non-profit organizations who serve women and families overcoming abuse, addiction, homelessness and poverty”

Her career has always focused on helping others, but within the last few years she has realized the importance of helping women in business connect, grow, and inspire together.
Tired of superficial networking groups, she launched the Spokane Ladies Business Network. A tiny group with one member, herself. Larayna quickly made friends with other female business owners (cue the amazing Rachel & Kyhra!), who have made the community what it is today.
It is Larayna’s personal mission to help you reach your goals by connecting you to the right women!
