**BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT**
Melissa Owens:
Melissa is a licensed insurance agent with Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company. She helps young families prepare for unexpected death and disabilities, young professionals and individuals close to retirement, and small business owners.
Her mission is to impact the world in a positive way. Helping connect people with the right tools to enrich their life and be connected to the resources that help them attain their goals is everything to her. She hopes to help as many families and business’ to have the peace of mind they deserve, at a cost they can easily afford.
Marisa Ala:
Marisa received her law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law and has been practicing for nearly 25 years. As a small business owner herself, Marisa also enjoys working with other small businesses to ensure that they have updated formation documents, contracts, and most importantly, a succession plan that is integrated with the owner’s estate plan.
Marisa and her husband John are the parents of two teenagers, Ariel and Jeffrey. Ariel came to them through Denver County’s foster care system, and they adopted her in July of 2013. Marisa is passionate about helping other parents find the right resources and connections to ease the significant burden of raising a traumatized child, and enjoys volunteering with local charities that support foster care and adoption.
